| Typically my PVR box arrives, I unpack it all, start to connect it up and ..... the cable that connects the PS3 to the box is missing. As for being encrypted, well I tried running it thru HDMI and just got a black screen, so looks like my PS3 is encrypted. So returning it, get a refund (they included a note saying there were problems with the PVR box, especially for PS3) and probably order the Elgato box.
How LBP on the Vita? And are we ever going to get round to recording a podcast?

| It's amazing, You get so much cool stuff out of it, and you can use a function in the program to go back to areas of gaming where you didn't record and record it. It has 1080p and it is small and pretty, and it runs fast, almost no frameskips. Comes with a special HD Cable for the PS3. Extremely Recommended!

| Ok, here's a suggestion.
When FFA, and maybe when Fuse comes out too, why don't we get together with some headsets and play multiplayer, capture the gameplay and dub our chat over it? Maybe we can do the same with A4O or resistance? (Assuming some people other than me has Resistance)

| This is all really cool! May get a few people interested.
I'd love to help, but I know you guys already have a team, don't you? Oh and I don't have Skype, yea minor roadblock there lol.
I've got a tom of spare time for the next month or so, so I'm gonna be hovering around here for a bit
Hows this thing coming along anyway? If you want to include me I can, i'm free any day except Christmas and a few days after that. Oh and I have the crappiest tech on my side, but I'm pretty sure Rockband microphones work on PC
EDIT: My PS3 is broken. In the other post I said I already mentioned this, but I didn't so I decided to add it in, that way I was making more sense
It's a good level, go play it...

| ATM I think we're trying to do a Lets Play on A4O, but owing to Xmas, some tech glitches and basically just arranging everything we've hit some difficulties. We were going to try to get something done over the weekend but .......

| So how do you plan on doing it? Will one of you record it, while you all talk through the game, or will you use Skype to do the chatting? What sorts of difficulties are you having trouble with? There is a slight chance I might be able to help, i've got so much time I could just roam the internet looking for answers.
Oh and by the way, in A4O four players are better than 3. I said my PS3 was broken and I meant it, but I can get one game to work after about 6 hours of pushing it, after that is works fine... usually. Anyway if you're doing this in a few days from now I may have it running by then.
It's a good level, go play it...

| Mostly it's just getting us all online at one time. I had no trouble with the actual vid capture. Oh and my mic decided not to work, after I'd tested it as ok. I believe what we're doing chat wise is to each record our own chat separately then Hennamann can put it all together when he edits the vid. But I can record everyone if needs be.
My suggestion if your interested is to PM Hennamann, probably on RG, cos he's the one organising it really.

| What I think you should do is do the commentary at the same time as the video, that way you can comment on the game and stuff. Discussions about the game and stuff would be much better than a bunch of comments added afterwards.

| Sorry, not explaining too well. Yes we record the chat cum commentary as we play, and I can record that for everyone over the top of the video or everyone records what they say whilst they play then we glue it together and put it back over the gameplay.

| I've seen a few playthroughs of games recently, and I think we should do it they way Insomniac did it when they were playing FFA with the community. I'm pretty sure, what they did was play the game, and record their voices separately, but at the same time. You see I've played a few online games, and the mic quality in-game isn't always that grand. To avoid crappy mic issues, you could have a computer connected to Skype or whatever, and be playing the PS3 (all of you) and record booth the computer and the game separately. That way in the end you will have game audio and our commentary. So you can alter the volumes. Maybe you wish to make the game a bit quieter when you speak, and then when the speaking is over the games can go up a bit (like when watching cinematics)
And if you are the one with the strongest internet, then you would have to record the lot, but that doesn't sound like it'll be much of an issue for you.
EDIT: Actually unless it can be held off for another week, I can't do it until a little while after Christmas. My PS3 is thoroughly stuffed, any game I run on it gets damaged, and I like A4O too much for that. So far 3 expensive games have been scrambled
Maybe you should do it, and when I get a new PS3 I can drop into the thing halfway through or something? it's all up to you guys and what you want to do.
It's a good level, go play it...

| I think that's pretty much what I was trying to say. Although we can use bluetooth PS3 heasdets during the gameplay cos it won't record that unless I specifically set it to. If we use Skype thats fine too, but otherwise if everyone has a PC, a mic that connects to the PC and audio recording software (which often comes on a PC or there's Audacity which is freeware) then everyone records themselves, whilst using PS3 headets to chat, so we have say 4 seperate audio files. Then we put them together, they should fit cos we were talking together thru the PS3, and carry on as you say. Hope I'm making sense.

| I think I get what you mean, but it would be easier (I think) if we all talk through say Skype, and only one person records what happens on Skype? But then again that might not be how it works, I don't know I don't have any recording programs.
It's a good level, go play it...

| Having thought about it I got to agree your method sounds better than what me and Hennamann had in mind. There are free programs that record skype chat or I can string miles of cable around my place and record it with what I already have, although I'd want to get that tested before we start playing All told I don't think we're going to do anything till the new year now.
